UPDATE - December 2011 - February 2012Answered Prayers
This month we’ve got some great things to report. We are encouraged at hearing people report answers to prayer. One seemingly simple testimony was really touching. A lady was missing her granddaughter and wanted to see her again so she prayed to the Lord. The very next day she had an unexpected visit from her daughter-in-law and her granddaughter. No problem is too big or too small for our God.

New Area
One of our leadership group called Lovely invited us to go to her parent’s village and start a church. Her family live just beside the Hundred Islands National Park. At the end of January Duane and Joe and Lovely and her family and a few others set off by car to investigate. Fortunately, the car trip was only two hours from San Isidro. The village is extremely poor but the location is stunning. They were able to take a boat trip within the Park, do some kayaking and enjoy the crystal clear waters. There is no church in the village and the people are keen to hear the gospel. We are still working out how to help out there.

Damayan
This month we completed full handover of a community group called “Damayan” to elected community representatives. The purpose of this group is to provide mutual support for its members in case of family illness, hospitalization or for funeral expenses. There are over 100 members who each contribute 20 peso per week (about 60 cents) to the fund. From April the fund will pay out pre-agreed amounts to assist members who encounter medical or funeral costs. This is an exciting initiative, which was requested by villagers themselves. We believe it will be a great blessing to many.

A Few Other Things
The end of January also saw the return of Jenny from working in New Zealand. Duane and Joe no longer need to frequent the Mall most evenings for dinner! The other notable family event was Joe’s first gig as a drummer playing in a band at the school Filipino Day Celebration concert. And wow, was he good! Click here to take a look.

Also, we have just uploaded a video of our Christmas Celebration service. Be sure to check it out. Click here

At the moment we have a couple of guys (Dan and Andrew) with us from His Way Church. It’s been an amazing time but we will let you know more next month.

Thank You
Finally thank you so much to all who support our work financially and in prayer. You are making such a difference in the lives of so many people. We are amazed at how much God has enabled us to do since our formal launch into the community at an Outreach Concert on 22nd August 2010. He is so Good and there’s lots more to come!!

Until Next Time
Love and God Bless
Duane & Jenny
