HOHFA does not, nor is it designed to make a profit. To fulfil the vision and mission of the school (listed at the bottom of this page) the Board of Directors seeks funding from local and international donors. Yes, each student at the school is charged a minimal fee of P200 or $NZ6 per month (P2000 peso, $NZ60, year). This money is put toward their tuition, books, uniforms and stationary. The school also supplies a healthy and nutritional lunch each day at a cost of P10 (NZ30cents).
As you can see, HOHFA’s priority is making sure the poor have access to a quality education. This is also reflected in our primary objection, vision and mission. Please click here to read our objectives, vision and mission
Agoo, like the rest of the Philippines, experiences a number of tropical storms and typhoons each year. The storms can, and already have, disrupted school activates. For example, during Buwan Ng Wika 2017 the parents, staff and students had to make a dash for the kinder building to finish the program because of the rains from tropical storm, Jolina.
But the benefits of a covered court go way beyond the school as the covered court would also serve the local community. Hands of Hope Faith Academy is listed as an evacuation center for San Isidro therefore, the covered court, with canvas drop down sides, would provide added protection for those forced to evacuate their homes during severe weather conditions.
